And the Angels Sing!!!

Rejoice!
What the internet world has been awaiting for a decade has come to pass.
You can all finally watch the cult favorite video from 1995:
The Adventures of Jimmy Peckerwood and Breakfast Sausage

It has been recut and “remastered” so it can assault the senses of a new generation.
Never fear, it is still as aesthetically ugly as that cold day in December when it was born.

Los Moodoos en el television

Mike and I will be appearing on De Todo Un Poco next week at 10:00 AM. It is a Spanish morning show on Channel 22 KWHY here in Los Angeles. You can also catch it on Mi San Diego TV 43. We shot it last Friday and it was an interesting experience. It was our first times being interviewed on television. Luckily, everyone was very nice and accomodating considering neither of us are especially fluent in Spanish. We performed a 3 minute puppet show we wrote for the program, then attempted a short interview. It was pretty fun.

I plan to tape it and post it online shortly after.

My New Cobalt

After four years of Mass Transit and bumming rides, I am finally a car owner again.
For the first time ever, I am a new car owner.
Today I picked up my red Chevy Cobalt LS Coupe.
Please don’t let anything happen to it, Ancient Spirits of Evil and Tiki-Man.

Channel Islands

I have been wanting to visit the Channel Islands for some time now. They are a group of islands off the coast of Ventura that are part of a natural reserve. In other words, you can’t live or build there, but you can visit and camp. Erika and I took a trip to the closest island, Anacapa today. It was her first time on a boat and it was a hell of a way to be introduced. The waters were quite choppy and the trip was fairly wet. Sometimes spray would splash across the upper deck. Anacapa is a beautiful place. I hope to go camping, kayaking, and snorkeling on one of the other islands in the near future, probably Santa Cruz. On that one, you get to take a small skiff with all your supplies over the waves and onto the beach and you’ll probably get very wet.

Damn Suburban Terrors

Sometimes, we see things that seem more interesting than they probably are. In the best cases, we never learn the real story. Today, I saw something that fits in that category.

On the way home from work, I passed a Police car parked on Los Feliz. An officer was sitting in the driver’s seat watching his partner in the adjoining yard. The cop was intently staring down a squirrel a few feet away. The squirrel would slowly inch across the yard towards the next while the cop followed his actions with his head. It was as if the Police had been summoned to evict this trespassing troublemaker squirrel from some Suburban Innocents yard. Perhaps he was a drug-dealer or the occupant had a restraining order against this stalker rodent. The law aint screwing around any more. No one left behind!

Mud Run

The Mud Run was yesterday and it was great. It’s a 10K (6.2 miles) through a Marine training course coated in mud located in Camp Pendleton. Our team was the “TPOP Sloths” and our time was 1:39:49. The first half is mostly running with minimal obstacles and is kind of boring. Then, we hit the first Mud Pit and wall climb. From that point on, it was really fun. We swam across a shallow muddy river (the best part), crawled through tunnels, trudged through mud, climbed a slippery slope, and finished coated in mud. I just wish I had a camera for during the race. I’d love to do it again and I probably will do the Boot Camp Challenge in a few months. It’s all obstacles.
