I have made it my goal to get a position (of any sort) working on the Astroboy movie. If any of you find out any info about hiring, open positions, etc., please let me know.
Thanks.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has signed SAMURAI JACK and DEXTER’S LABORATORY creator Genndy Tartakovsky to write and direct a live-action version of the anime classic ASTROBOY, reports VARIETY. The long in-development picture will be produced by Don Murphy of Angryfilms, and Lisa Henson and Kristine Belson of Jim Henson Pictures.
The feature started out as a live-action project in 1997, but was shelved after Steven Spielberg went into production on A.I., which also featured a robot boy who replaces a dead child. Then the film when into development as a CG animated film to be directed by DINOSAUR helmer Eric Leighton, but that project just churned in development hell. Now the film has been resurrected as a live-action film again with Tartakovsky heading up the project.
ASTROBOY was created by the father of Japanese animation Osamu Tezuka and was the first anime TV series to come to the U.S. The cult classic tale follows a scientist who builds a robot replacement for his dead son.
A buddy of mine is going to be the owner of a franchise.
I now have it set up so if anyone wishes to commission an ink drawing from me, they can do it through my site via Paypal. You just click where it says “Order a Personalized Drawing.” Is $25.00 reasonable?
We did two shows at Mike’s School, Barnhart today. They went really well. The kids really seemed to enjoy them and we had an audience of about 150 per show. It was fun. The first show was for grades K-4 and we performed Sleeping Beauty in Outer Space. The second show was for grades 5-8. We performed Curse of the Pirate’s Tattoo and Mike’s students performed a short show before ours. Good stuff.
My girlfriend and I went to the beach today. After 2 hours of searching for parking, we found a place in a nearby neighborhood. We had fun. The waves are nice here. Jennifer came home pink ‘though.
I did receive some bad news today:
Moodoo Puppets will NOT have a booth at Comic-Con. The funds aren’t there to cover it. So, if I do go to Comic-Con this year, it will just be as a convention-goer, not as an exhibitor.
“You seem a decent fellow,” Inigo said. “I hate to kill you.”
“You seem a decent fellow,” answered the man in black. “I hate to die.”
Here is the message from an e-postcard my friend, Bryan with the toe dilemma sent out Thursday:
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE HANDICAPPED OR THE SECOND OPINION.
My closest friend, Bryan, received some shitty news today. He stepped on something some time ago and it has infected one of his toes (the one next to the Big Toe). The doctor suspects the infection may have reached the bone. If this is the case, he will have that toe amputated this Friday.
He hopes that if he loses this toe the doctor’s can graft a claw or gold knub in its place. This is probably not the case.
Let’s hope he gets to keep the toe.
