It has been a fairly good week. I had a great time at Hungtington Beach in Orange County last Saturday. I still need to learn to surf. If any of you out there surf and live near me, take me for a lesson, homes.
Last Friday night, I was taking the bus home after work. I noticed that the guy who got off at the stop before mine had left his books on the bus. It consisted of two journals and a hardcover copy of The Odyssey. Luckily, he had written his phone number on the front page of one of the journals. I gave him a call and he picked up the books a couple of days ago. He insisted I accept a reward check despite my protests. After he had left, I unfolded it and was quite shocked. Forty-five dollars! I expected five, maybe ten. He was really happy I returned the books to him, they were apparently very important to him. In the ‘for’ field on the check, he wrote “for being a good guy.” I’m still not sure if I should cash it ‘though. It feels weird being paid to do something you should do.
Big Up to Matt Pinardi (Sharp Clock). He is the first cool-ass guy to order a personalized picture from my website. Thanks a lot man!
I stopped by this pastry shop in Glendale today. Their pastries are fucking good.
Isn't O Brother Where Art Thou based on the Odyssey? I wish you painted. I could use a clever little painting to look at right about now.
Dat's da Odyssey alright!
I make a painting about once every 4-5 years.
I just painted something for Jennifer earlier this year, so it'll probably be at least 2008 before I paint anything else.
People rarely perform good deeds for strangers now a days. You deserve the 45$ man.
